Summary
For her thesis work, Sinner explores her personal anxieties and materializes them into monsters. Sinner uses embroidery and quilting to represent her monsters, and creates a fine line between “exquisitie and mess, concealing and revealing, control and letting go.” Embroidery and quilting is Sinner?s safe place, and it reminders her of her mother and home. The quilts in her thesis are not meant to be functional, but rather is an abstraction that obscures the monsters. Sinner gives backstories and personalities to each piece in her thesis, which helps her explore her own self-consciousness
