Summary
The artist examines notions of art, craft and design during his journey which culminates in his creation of a furniture collection. Trine juxtaposes the uses and feel of everyday objects in people?s homes with the process of creating craft, how that fits in with current cultural trends and what it means to be a craftsperson and designer. One of the main pieces of this collection are the Rod + Weave chair, made from solid steel hex rod, leather straps and a cushion made from a salvaged military blanket. The other main piece is called the Bar of Soap table, which combines walnut and half inch solid round rod as materials. The artist is intensely interested in the identification of a practice, and the observation of process. He engages the public in the prototype process, and is relates to his designs through the lense of his audience
